Newbie noob

Post Number:#1  Postby gmacorvick » Wed Oct 03, 2012 10:09 pm

Hi guys.. Read a lot from this forum. Gaining knowledge before i started to take my OW license. Im 34 and yes i dont know how to swim at all. Started to take my swimming lesson for a couple of days already. Hope i can float and swim soon and yes i know it takes time. Really interested into getting my license and all the way to instructor license if God willing. Job change is on my mind since im a flight crew for Airasia and i have been a flight attendant for the past 11 years. Dive has been a passion i wanna do for a long time and i guess it about time for me to leave aviation industry. Maybe in long term i hope i can be a licensed dive instructor and possibility of going O & G commercial diver in years to come. Pray for me and i hope i can make the right decision.

Being a commercial diver is not fun. It's not like you are welding something underwater and a giant grouper pass you by. Corals swaying left and right. Moray eel swimming on the left.

It's pitch dark and hellish. Just be an instructor.

Tak guna juga bro kalau berenang pun macam submarine. So i better not waste this opportunity. Learn how to swim and get my OW license.

I just passed my OW diver license......went to Mabul and had 3 + 1 dives during my 2-day stay last month.  I though at my age, it is really too late for me to indulge myself in this activity. Good luck to you, hope you will get your license soon.
