We now have the following accessories for your beloved Canon G9:( available as a set only, not seperately)

G9 grip

This add-on component provides an attractive, comfortable grip on a fairly gripless camera.

Application is easy with the underside design of the grip matching the G9's existing rubber handhold for perfect alignment. And the no-mess adhesive strip keeps the grip solidly in place, although you can pry it off without damaging the camera if you’re careful.

Cases: The grip apparently does not fit well into Canon's snug leather case (the grip stands approximately an eighth of an inch (0.125 inches, 0.318cm) above the retracted lens -- although some people have mounted it on the case itself, instead of the camera, and are quite happy. On the bright side, the slightly higher profile will make little difference if you carry the camera in a pocket or pouch.

Underwater Housings: If you're a diver, you should know that the grip prevents the G9 from fitting inside the Canon underwater housing WP-DC21 , although it’s fine with the Ikelite housing.

Yes, it protects the external flash contacts from rain and dirt. Yes, it prevents the hot shoe from snagging as you pull the camera from your pocket. And it looks damm good with the " G" carving on it! And when you look down, you see black... no silver contacts reflecting in the sun.

Most important, your internal flash works normally when the cover is on the camera. The only time you’ll take it off is to use an external flash, and high-tolerance machining ensures it won't slip out on its own.

Our new G9/G7 58mm lens adapter is  machined from 6061 aluminum, as opposed to the original; Canon adapter made of plastic. It's then bead-blasted and anodized black to match the finish of the G9/G7.

In addition to allowing the use of filters and conversion lenses, the adapter protects the delicate zoom mechanism and lens from the inevitable bonks of everyday usage, as well as allowing the camera to be left on indefinitely with the lens extended in “street-shot” mode, instantly ready for that decisive moment. It also allows the use of a conventional clip-in lens cap, which stays in place until removed.

Having a metal thread, it will never strip or cross thread like a plastic adapter can. You'll also find that the adapter provides a comfortable support for the camera. Some may find the 35mm wide end of the G9/G7 limiting, but with the quick-change bayonet mount, adding or changing lenses is a snap. In addition to the Canon wide converter WC-DC58B .75X, several non-Canon wide converters can be used with the G9/G7, including the Raynox HD-6600Pro, the Raynox HD-7000Pro, and the Sony VCL-DH0758. For those wanting to extend the zoom range beyond 210mm, several options exist For non-Canon teleconverters, the Raynox 1540 1.54x performs well. Samples from all of these lenses are found in the reviews here.

The G9/G7 metal adapter comes with a free end cap (not to be confused with a lens cap, the end cap covers the rear of the adapter when the adapter/lens or filter is removed from the camera). The adapter requires a 58mm clip-in type cap the same size as the adapter thread, this type of cap will also fit onto a filter.
