Pulau Sembilan Missing Diver 18/3/2012

Hi all,

Why was the post earlier about the missing diver removed from the forum? Look, sometimes we can learn a thing or two from these incidents and that's what a forum does. For instance, the condition of the sea, current, experienced wise, etc....

Please update  the status those of you who have news of the P9 diver.

Hi all,

Do read this, and learn. Accident don't just happen. Some cases, it caused by nature, but most of it, as stated in most diving manuals, is caused by human error. And this one is one of it. My condolences to the departed's family. May this serve as a reminder to fellow divers to have all equipment in good working condition at all times.

i believe someone was not happy with the posting and the posting was deleted. Thing just happen, fate happened. We can never know how we would end one day.

this week alone 2 incidents happened at P9. 2 divers missing but later found on 14th mac and  today we heard about the news of a diver reported to be drowned though the body hasn't been discovered.

Thanks for sharing guys.. As Run was saying, two incident just within a week. That is something that we need to ponder upon. Maybe those who had been to Pulau 9 can share what are prob the contributing factors to this situation?

What second incident?

You mean this one? http://m.yahoo.com/w/legobpengine/news/two-went-missing-during-dive-found-safe-20110314-063705-399.html?orig_host_hdr=my.news.yahoo.com&.intl=MY&.lang=en-MY

Look at the date. That was last year.

P9 has a long established notoriety for bad viz and strong currents. Yet amateurs still think they can go diving there.

And the dive centre is negligent because it still markets P9 as a "diving paradise". P9 is a ghost paradise.

Please stop diving P9 if you are one of those divers who wants the dive master to take care of everything and to look after you. P9 is only for those who have experience at self-rescue and diving adverse conditions.

Thanks for the clarification superadmin. Yep, that was last year. Didnt realize till superadmin brought it up. Left to only one incident.. Hehe..

Bad viz and strong current but yet divers still opt to be in Pulau 9. I wonder what's the main attraction is over there.

Maybe we could discuss in another thread due to respect.
Again i must highlight. It could happen to anyone. Whether you are 1000+ dives or a novice diver.
