Bro,
Ketam dived with Downbelow before, not too bad, good service and equipment. Check out my posting on Tarp trip and contact EVE. Ask Terjuntiruk, he is in KK and dives TARP a lot.

Hi Bobby,

I had dived with Downbelow before. Good service and equipments are well maintained. The price might be a bit more but worth the money.

But you can always check with other operators e.g. borneo diver, sabah diver.

Hi Bobby,

Depends on where you stay. Some DCs provide transfer pick up from your hotel some dont, if you stay within KK area, you can just walk to Wisma Sabah, there you can find few DCs, Sabah Divers, Beach Bum, Inno Sabah (they do land tour but early last year they started diving tour too) just to name a few. As far as i concern, the price dont really differ much.

If you are concern about the equipment used, may be you wanna consider Sabah Divers, as they have their own lab n workshop just down at the office basement which the boss Allan Mah constantly do inspection on they gears.

Which ever DCs you follow, you might ask the Dive Master to bring you to Clement Reefs (Extention). is a nice dive site!!!!!!

Cheers and have fun

Yeah.. this is my second trip. Overall the condition are just about TARP but the Tiga mid reef are really beautiful with lots of corals and fishes. I did find a few nudibraches that I have not seen in TARP. Anyway, it always good to be able to dive in a new place....  :)

Diveking,

When did you dive Tarp? KK is a hidden gem. Ketam loves diving there. You can stay in the city with dive site rivaling the islands just minutes away. Do elaborate and share your dive experience in TARP.

Can I share my dive experiences from TARP?

I did 4 leisure dives this weekend and some some amazing stuff. Highlights include: a blue ring octopus, horseshoe crabs feeding on sand, Imperial partner shrimps, tiger mantis shrimps, a frogfish, numerous stonefish and to top it all off, a school of squid laying their eggs in staghorn coral.

Typically, I didn't have my camera for any of it...  :crybaby2:

Two of the dives were on Sapi (Sapi South and the House Reef) and I dived the Sands of Gaya twice, the first time we saw the horseshoe crabs, which I had never seen before and the second time to go back and look for them again, but they had already moved on. Thankfully we found a large number of seaurchins on the sand instead, with small fish and shrimps sheltering in their spines. Amazing how much is out there!

Hi,

Good dive sites in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park (TARP) this time of year are:-

Sapi House Reef
Sapi South along with Ron's Reef
Clement's Reef - A little messy at present but should settle down.
Edgell Patches - Always interesting but not all operators go, to much fuel.
North Manuakan - Great Table corals the size of a small car.
Coral Garden, West Gaya - A bit like Clement's, needs to settle down a bit.
Manutik, Pyramid and Mid Reef - OK But I like South Sulug at the moment.

Be good and be safe, any questions please just ask.

Thanks

How's diving condition like on April? Dived in KK and Sipadan last year on Feb and the condition in both of the places were great, heven't dive in Clement's reef and this time I might try that for sure, what do you mean by extension? Is it a special request?
