Sunlight Divers, Perhentian Island

Sunlight Divers is a friendly professional PADI Dive Center based on Perhentian Kecil, Malaysia. The Perhentian Islands are home to some of the best diving on the Malaysian Peninsular, and Perhentian Kecil is known as Malaysia's backpackers paradise. We are based on Long Beach and Coral Bay.

Our experienced team of instructors can take you from your first moments breathing underwater all the way up to professional diver qualifications.

For qualified divers the Perhentian Islands have over 20 dive sites within short distance of the dive centers which we reach by speedboat, no lengthy journeys on overcrowded fishing boats. We regularly visit 4 sites a day, allowing you to pick and choose where to visit. All divers are accompanied by experienced divemasters (underwater guides) who will ensure that you have the best possible dive at each site.

Check us out : www.sunlightdivers.com

Looking forwards to seeing you guys!

Best Fishes,
Sunny

ps: We offer cheap shore dives from Long Beach and Coral Bay!

We do offer discounts on PADI courses for Malaysians and an even bigger discount for Malaysian students.(as I know how poor students are... )

Our aim next year is to double the amount of Malaysians we certify! Surrounded by water, we should ALL be divers right ...... ?

By the way .... drift dive at vietnamese wreck we can almost guarantee seahorses.. (Thorny Seahorses and Common Seahorses)

Mohan right ??

I had an awesome time in Lembeh and Bunaken, I bloody wished my camera wasn't broken!!! My buddy took some incredible photos though. Maybe we can exchange?

It was the first time in years that I felt the need to log dives! I saw more in one day than I have seen in years. So so cool .... still buzzing when I talk about it!

Looking forwards to seeing you at Sunlight.

okay here's the testimonial sunny have been waiting for (so worth the discount she gave me.. thru D!hehe)

both my friend and i have been affraid of the open water since as far back as we can remember. even boat rides to snorkle sites in perhentian scare the crapt out of us.

but 16th July 07 we started our padi open water course - both a nervous wreck honestly.

day 1 - met up with D (sunlight divers longbeach manager i think- sunny was in indonesia apparently) and he introduced us to wade - this tall canadian dude. D said wade was to be our instructor. even from the beginning he was very cool and collected. explained to us in detail what the whole course was going to be like and made us feel at ease.

day 2 - watched the videos - wade introduced us to steve (another canadian dude) and said steve was traininng to be a dive master and will follow us through the whole course. cool. back to the video - very interesting la actually. many said they almost fell asleep.

confined water - wade and steve thought us how to suit up with the gear and took us out to the beach and in the water. both were very professional and explainitory. wade explained and made himself understood while steve demonstrated. despite the hard currents we were both really calm. well, steve and wafe were making jokes bout non canadians it was quite funny we actually forgot to get scared.

day 3 - confined water again, but at 5 meters i think. quite dramatic as wade and steve thought us how to take our bcd off and put them back on, underwater and ob surface. the surface was fine. underwater, my friend's mouth piece popped out as her reg got tangled while she was twisting her bcd! 1st reaction - shoot up and gasp for air! wade immediately went up to her and pulled her secondary and placed it to her mouth. she purged and remained calm. steve and i looked for her mouth piece and found it on the sea bed. was all good. quite interesting actually

1st boat dive at d'lagoon. 12 meters. buoyancy was all over the place but with wade and steve's help - we were flying in the water like superman! hehe. saw lots of fish. very comfortable and secured underwater - even tho the boat ride there was quite frightening! wade was swimming infront and kept lookin back at us two (every 2 seconds) and steve was tail gaiting us all the way. we both felt that no way anything could go wrong. very enjoyable. even for our 1st boat dive.

day 3 - 2nd boat dive - tokong laut! omg i cant even begin to describe how incredible this dive was. simply amazing. as usual, wade and steve made it so easy. we even did more excersises underwater. after that we were just diving away. buoyancy was almost perfect by then. breathing was very smooth. good feeling all over.

dive 4 - final one - tanjung basi. by then the both of us were pros. steve cudnt join us but even with just wade we were already confident. even the long boat ride (bumpy and choppy) was a breeze. haha. i actually felt deep down - dont matter if i fell off the boat - i can swim. i can deep dive man! haha!

so all in all in a nutshell - it was an excellent experience. mostly because of the professionalism and good care of wade and steve. i've had 4 other friends who did their course at sunlight last year and they had the exact same response i did. the place is constantly filled with foreigners. the dive center at longbeach ain't all that flashy and big, but i felt it was very warm. cool people around which made it good to drop by even for just a chat.

so there you go. i am now totally hooked on diving. also a totally satisfied customer. i can safely say the same for my friend. sunlight divers totally rocks man!

ahem - dive discounts cough! cough! dive dicounts cough! cough!

Hiya! I am pretty sure if I knew your real name I would remember!

We had a late opening this year but this coming year we will be opened from the first week of january as even though the water is choppy, the conditions for diving is actually oK! (Whale sharks sightings are normally at this time of the year too !! )
