HOW TO OVERCOME THE ADDICT TO DIVE

Post Number:#1  Postby Narco » Thu Apr 19, 2012 1:18 am

My hands are shaking, my legs are finning, keep smelling the neoprene wetsuit and inhaling oxygen only thru mouth. These symptoms are common among divers when they are addicted to diving. While walking on land, some might even glance at their dive comp for deco.

How to overcome the addict when one is desprate to dive but have no opportunity to do so? Share your creative solutions! Bare in mind, not everybody have the luxury to plug their reg onto a dive tank and decent into their bath tub.. Hehe

1. Get a job that allows you to work 5 days, not 6 days, a week.
2. There are at least two LOBs that offer 2-day trips on the East Coast. So every weekend becomes another opportunity to dive.
3. Or make day trips to Pulau Sembilan. Also another very quick fix for your addiction.

BTW, you breath compressed "air" not oxygen. Even nitrox is not wholly oxygen, it's only about one-third oxygen.

tim even it is not pure oxygen my nails becomes more stronger and grow faster after dives trip. My hair becomes healthier and grow longer faster.
I noticed this after decimel86 mentioned or was it someone else from the forum??? I heard about facial therapy which uses oxygen for beauty purposes.
Well i guess there is no need to do just that hahahaa
I also believe diving can make you younger woho!! (provided u dont go DCS in every dives you make)
I remembered when i have a talk with John(or was it micheal? cant recall) and mel from DAN last year. He told me i have to tone down my diving schedule. Perhaps from 4 dives a day to 2 dives a day. A fren of mine cut his speech and said  " she wont promise you that".
I love diving , its my childhood dream. I'm sticking with it. Well maybe until i can no longer carry that massly tank behind me.

Guys dive because u love it! not becoz u force it! or becoz ur fren into it and so u just tag along.
Appreciate when the turtles just cruising aorund without feeling even bothered by ur presence.
Take a look at so many different corals and its formation and how wonderful it is to see them upclose and not only through a pictures
in mails, websites or blogs.
See the slugs with so many different color species and still find mates in that vast oceans.
I had a wonderful time at Redang last weekend. I found so many wonderful things even on a patch of small reef.
The fish , big or macro all have its responsibilties on the reef.

Maybe some genius dive addict can invent a type of weight that would only be heavy upon contact with water.. hehe.. Upon jumping into the sea/pool, the weight will turn from 0.01KG to 1 KG within the blink of an eye.. hehe

In 1998, Payar is heaven.. hehe.. Now, i doubt many divers going payar already.. Although the water is greeny, there are lots of fish over there. Well, least that's what i saw during my last visit two years ago.
