Weight on BCD (intergrated) or on waist

Post Number:#1  Postby nazwangeo » Mon Nov 14, 2011 4:36 pm

Hi guys, i'm very new in diving, my log is only 6 dive.

I was plan to buy BCD. i'm thinking to buy BCD with integrated weight. My question:

What is the advantage vs disadvantage using BCD intergrated weight compare using normal style (weight belt). which is more favored by divers.

there is no advantage or disadvantages between these 2.
Now all BCDs are moving to integrated weight.

Some like it integrated , some like it conventional. It depend on the user itself.
Normally using weights around the waist can make you feel uncomfortable on the waist bone, especially
to skinny people.
some may advise standard protocol is using the weight around the waist. If anything happen underwater ,if they need to release the weight they know where to look for.
Somehow i dont think this advise you should worry about.

Most integrated BCD are now design to perfect trimming underwater.

Agreeing to run.. Both with their own advantages and disadvantages. And yes, I don't favor the uncomfy strap of a weight belt. Now using a zuma and loving the integrated weight system.
