OCEANIC GEO 2.0 - USERS EXPERIENCES

Post Number:#1  Postby Narco » Tue May 24, 2011 9:56 am

Hi People,

I know this posting might sound a little common, but I just wanna dig out more on Oceanic Geo 2.0. Common problems, pros and cons, service center etc. I know we don't have oceanic distributor in Malaysia.

Would anybody, especially those who are using it, care to share more? I thank you for your willingness to share.. :D

did a search on dr. google..

1. Oceanic Geo 2 might flood due to factory defect
http://forum.scubatoys.com/computers-gauges-12/oceanic-geo-2-0-problems-31946/

2. Problems occur after updating to latest May 2011 firmware update
Previous Dive History Corrupted then after 6 dives was erased completely????
Temperature readings incorrect
Elevation warning at sea level. EL2
Unable to download dives using Diving Log 5 anymore..

I was at Scubatex during MIDE but didn't see em carrying Oceanic 2.0 that day. The only place that i spotted selling Oceanic 2.0 is Dive Station. Unfortunately they don't have ready stock and force me to wait which i will not do.

How much u got ur Oceanic bro fauzi?

I've been using GEO 2.0 for around 20 dives already...
Complaints I have:
1. Only show max depth, no ave depth of the dive.
2. My surface time reset to 0 once i switch to freedive mode for some fun free diving during surface in between dives (or am i not suppose to do that?? :icon_tongue: )
3. Display not as nice as Suunto, but apparently our dive algorithm is not as strict/restrictive as Suunto's, and hey we can switch between two algorithms (but i'm not sure which of the two algo in my dive com is better)

Overall: its bang for the buck! nice small watch as compare to other dive watches of similar price range.
