Suunto D4 or Stinger or Mares Nemo Sport?

Post Number:#1  Postby ScubaBunny » Mon Sep 29, 2008 3:17 pm

Im toying with the idea of owning a new DC. But still cant decide on which to take?

1) Mares Nemo Sport (heard only have 2 mode air & ean?)
2) Suunto D4 (heard a combination of Mosquito & D3? - hence an expensive version of Mosquito.. seesh)
3) Suunto Stinger (heard it uses an older software?)

Anyone who have 1st hand information / using abv DC can ya'll give me some feedback? Thanks alot!!

Selamat Hari Raya too!!  :angel8:

on paper all 3 are the same..
my take is which will appeal to you more in terms of design.

but interms of usage i've only used the stinger and D4.

the interface is the obvious difference, whilst i am accustomed to the stinger i am now finding the display of D4 being a more ergonomic interface for me. plus there is a lot of tweaking for you to play with. eg the sampling rate and the setting of the RGBM.

so the important thing is what do you like & how much are you willing to spend  :D :D

Amboi... want me to spend more money lar?  :D Anyhow, D9 is tad to expensive for my liking. I know it sport a compass. But M still ol school girl, prefer to look @ my cheap but reliable clip on compass.  :P

Plus Ive read somewhere that the batt doesnt last as long coz of the internal compass. But who cares abt batt life if you can afford a D9 huh?  :laughing11:

Thanks all for your input. Yup, KS put it up quite nicely.. Its amatter of what I like (design) coz function wise it is quite the same.

In dat case it is down to :

1) D4 = Design wise, better as compare to stinger (but stinger has that sturdy and rugged look which I like), and weight (D4 wins hands down)
2) Mares Nemo Sport = Design wise.. Very attractive to girls hand and black is soooo sexy.. Polymer base material is also very lightweight. If m not mistaken it is lighter den D4. But, m kindda second guessing the usability, and also service wise.

So.. lets see wat others will say.

Dey....get Suunto Stinger la! tough ,solid, robust, proven by a lot of daily divers!
battery change & O ring inexpensive compared to D6 & D9.
Its user friendly & EANx compatible.

Its a bit outdated design / features than its new cousins
but if you're a diver ( air & EANx only ) requires simple
functions...Stinger it is!
Personally its the best & succesfull wrist type dive com.

Its a bit costly than D4 but dey...its worth it!

Ps...get the brand new ones la ;)
