I'm not particularly bothered about what the latest trend is. As long as the dive computer functions to your requirement, and you need not spend unnecessarily on features that would be redundant to you, and can spend that extra money on accumulating more dive experience..the better.

Ive seen the D6 and the D9 on lots of wrists, look V.cool when out and about; I find my Uwatec G2 does a good job and a bit cheaper, easy download to PC (Infra Red, no cable to buy!) The manual takes some thought to go through, but after 30mins playing it all becomes clear. Lots af talk about the algorithms used by the various manufacturers, accuracy etc, Uwatec is considered conservative, works for me, their are old divers, bold divers, but few old bold divers. Downside It is big and not meant for non dive use, you pay your money, you make the choice. I guees when I get into serious Tec I will need something more sophisticated, but until then.....
(( my first com was the old Uwatec Aladin, after 30 dives the IR died, the guys at Uwatec took it back to fix it, coudn't do that so replaced it with the newer G2, excellent service!!))
