Suunto D4i says "STOP"

Suunto D4i says "STOP"

Post Number:#1  Postby toodus » Sat May 12, 2012 7:04 pm

Guys,

One or two occasions, I think I ascend too quickly say from 22m to 15m suddenly and the Suunto D4i shows "STOP" under the depth indicator.
What does this mean?

means you are ascending too fast and you need to STOP first. Once you stop, then  resume ascent but watch the ascend rate on your DC.

Sorry guys, just wonder. Wouldn't it be more proper for it to state 'Slow' if it were to detect the user ascending too fast? Just a piece of thought from my mind.

what narco said is true if your ascend to fast it will show SLOW. What kayancdh said is also true. The STOP toodus mentioned was referring to Mandatory Ceiling stops since he did mentioned about ascending to fast. When you are already within the ceiling stop zone it will require you to STOP at that depth.

this reminds me of a funny story one structor told me. There was this guy who used a dive computer for the first time and complained to his dive master at the end of the dive that his dive computer kept telling him that he was a "SLOW"diver no matter how fast he swam..... :D :D
