For me, yes I do but only to grease/oil it up and check if any replacement is need but  usually it is just need oiling, greasing and mainly cleaning from the salt deposits.
If I have a dollar & U have a dollar & we swap, neither is better off. BUT if I have an idea and U have an idea & we swap we r both richer.

Regulator perlu dijaga rapi agar ia mampu berfungsi sebaik mungkin semasa digunakan termasuklah occtopus.

hmm.. i thought a octopus is the same as a regulator... as mentioned in other thread... but how come i don't see anyone getting the so called "service kit" when they service it...

is it because, an octopus, being a "secondary 2nd stage", has a simpler machanism inside?
cheers...

mcdo2976, we are advised to write in english in MUW as we have international readers amongst us..i think our very own snafuette would have trouble understanding the context..if there is a need to write in bahasa, do provide English translation so others can understand and join in the fun..

Dey fellas...if you send your reg for service do a check on your alternate air source / octopus as well or you can always do a dumb test on your 2nd stage or octo if you  have a simple unit to open the body.

1) Twist open the reg. cap..check purge button
2) Clean inside from sand & salt residue
3) Check & clean diapghragm...be extra careful...might tear it...apply silicone grease
4) Check & grease "o-ring" at hose.

Once again if you do a reg service you can check everything & calibrate the IP or Intermediate Pressure.
