Lombok Diving. Any Comments?

Post Number:#1  Postby diver999 » Mon Jun 24, 2013 11:58 am

Dear members,

I wish to gather some info about diving in Lombok. Have anyone dive there before?

Questions :-
1) How is the water temperature ?
2) Strong Current?
3) Any particular dive site is Good and can't be miss?
4) Weather?
5) Good for Macro or Wide??

Hope i'm nothing asking too much then. Thanks a lot :cheesy:

Just came back in May last month. Took a group of 10 divers to Gili Trawangan. Water temperature was good, abt 28C max. No strong current except for drift dive site called The Basket. The best site not-to-be-missed is Deep Turbo; and as the name suggests: it's deep and sometimes the current is like turbo!

Weather is really good....sunny all the way! Photography wise, it's more a wide than macro. Honestly, dive sites nothing much but the clarity is like HD.....

If you want more adventurous sites, head over to south Lombok's Sekotong Bay where the infamous Cathedral and The Magnet sites await you with treacherous currents with sightings of hammerheads!

Enjoy!
