The flight from LCCT to Banda Aceh Airport takes about 1 1/2 hours. One reminder though, please be first in line at the Indonesian immigration because there are only 2 counters. One for locals and one more for foreigners (which is us). If you're the 8th foreigner in line, be prepared to wait up to 30 minutes.

If possible, have someone wait for you at the Arrival Hall. Arrange that with the resort. I dived with Lumba Lumba and they arranged Firdaus to wait for me. He speaks English. Because the ferry that leaves for Weh is at 4pm and I arrived at noon, I had 3 hours to kill and that's where Firdaus comes in handy. He took me to lunch at a local Acehnese restaurant, Tsunami related touristy sites and basically anywhere.

If possible, have Firdaus buy the ferry tickets first because the ferry can be filled up with people travelling from Aceh to Pulau Weh.

The ferry terminal, Ulee Lheue shames our Mersing jetty anytime. Clean, spacious and orderly.

The best thing about the ferry ride is it is only 40 minutes.
I arrived at the Balohan ferry and there are taxis to take you to your dive centres.

Yes, Fu Manchu Lionfish is very shy/rare and in Malaysia, can only be found at around 30metres. The ones in Weh is bigger and bersepah merata merata. Found a few in 15 metres jer.

when we were there, we saw thousands of cleaner shrimp (under the jetty). thousands of pipefish (at the wreck), common Nudis but nothing more. we stayed at Lumba Lumba. finally on the last dive we saw a seahorse at their housereef.

Hi guys. Been awhile since I posted on here. Hehehe. Been kept busy at work. Now down to the qustion:

1. What were the diving conditions in Pulau Weh like? Were they mostly challenging or quite easy dives? Reason for asking is that some of my friends are not that experience and dont know if they will be able to enjoy it if we decide to go to Weh.

2. Are there any other activities that one could do other than diving? Also are there any fancy spas/massage centres or fancy resorts? Need to cater for some non divers too.

Hope you can help out.

Btw typing on my tablet. Its not showing the pics will look it up on my desktop later :). Cheers

1. What were the diving conditions in Pulau Weh like?
Good viz, plenty of fish, ribbon eels, octopus

2) Were they mostly challenging or quite easy dives?
Yes can be challenging around seulako island, batee tokong and up north near KM"0"
but there is no need to worry. As long as you listen carefully to the dive guides and follow their warning, u and fellow divers
will be ok. Even with the non experince. I brought 2 frenz with less than 20 dives and they dive just fine

3) Are there any other activities that one could do other than diving?
sightseeing around the island. That only took 1 day.

4)Also are there any fancy spas/massage centres or fancy resorts?
Yes, located at Sabang. Very far from iboih. Freddies Sumur Tiga. Just goggle and you will find many interesting photos. Lots of mat salleh hangout there.

Sabang is more nearer to the town so lots of more stuff to do then staying near iboih and some where near steffan's dive center.
If you stay near iboih and steffan , the loudest sound you will hear would be the gecko and the owl.
