Recommendations to stay for a nite in Kuala Besut

Post Number:#1  Postby Steven » Sun Aug 21, 2011 11:02 am

Hi

This will be my first trip to Kelantan so will be killing two birds with one stone. Planning to go a day early to look-see around then stay a night in Kuala Besut before getting on the ferry to Perhentian early next morning.

Names, contacts, etc will be appreciated.

Thanks
Steven

Taman Chalet Azimos
Pantai Peranginan Air Tawar,  D/A 489, Jalan Rumah Tumpangan,  22200 Besut, Terengganu.
Tel:
      09-6956530  09-6957405

i stayed here before but really it is not that all pretty and remember to bring mosquito repellent. A few minutes drive to Kuala besut.
If you are from KT, you will find air tawar 1st and then Kuala Besut.
But if you drive from Gua musang, you will meet Kuala besut and then Air tawar.

There are actually a lot of Inn or hotel and there is no need to book in advance. Just walk in will do. Except when you are planning to go there during the school holiday.

I never been to this resort before Primula Coral View Beach Resort
tel :09-6956311 located near the azimos chalet too.

Night life. No night life there except listening to the waves or go fill your stomach to the ikan bakar instead.

I'm now in KLIA. Had a flight from Terengganu this morning and I happen to stay in Besut last nite. The place i was in is not in kuala besut (15 minutes away from K. Besut if I can recall correctly). The name is Bukit Keluang Beach Resort. I would rank it as a fair stay. They offer this chalet concept and u will find the luxury of a double and a single bed in one standard chalet.

Sorry I dun have the number but u can google em up. Not a bad place at all.

Hi run and narco

Need some to clarify some directions here.  hmmm ... could you please confirm. Kuala Besut is nearer to Kota Bahru or Kuala Trengganu? Since both of you mention going from Trengganu / Kuala Trengganu to K Besut?

Thanks

Kuala Besut is actually the border of Terengganu and Kelantan.
If you are from KT or KB it will take you about another 1 hour drive to arrive Kuala Besut.

The journey from Kuala Terengganu Airport to Besut alone is about an hour and a half. Kuala Besut is just 10 minutes away from the place i stayed. However, the locals were saying that it would be better for me to land at the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport in Kelantan. Not only the journey is 30 minutes faster but the road is much betta.

Anyway, as long as u r there safely, othing else really matter.

Cheers.

if interested, you can try Samudera Hotel, right at the Perhentian Jetty at Kuala Besut.

http://www.ecosea.com/eco/HTM/Kuala%20Besut%A0Samudera%20Discount%20Hotel%20Malaysia.htm

I am headed there on 31st August. leaving home early so should arrive there just in time for ikan bakar dinner :-)

cheap also, but no hot shower.. cold shower. Their rooms with hot shower cost RM30 more.. so i stick to cold shower rooms.

vash_n thanks for the recommendation.  How early do you start? Wah ... extra RM30/- for hot water bath. Since driving own car, can bring own kettle  :D

I will be there on 14th Sept.

sorry for late reply. jst got back from perhentian..

there is many places to park, and they are all about the same price. i parked at 'safe park', which is near samudera hotel. RM7/day.. many might not like this parking because its next to the sea.. they scare rust.

for me, i enjoy parking my car and picking it up next to the sea.. makes me feel even MORE on holiday..  :laughing11:
