Mabul & Sipadan 13th-17th Nov

Post Number:#1  Postby raffidi » Sun Nov 18, 2012 8:01 am

Just got back from Mabul and Sipadan dive. 1st day Mabul was good. Did 2 dives at Seaventures and Water Bungalow.

Day 2 was Sipadan and we 6 lucky divers had the best visibility and condition till we left Sipadan for Mabul when it just poured!
We got to witness why Barracuda Point was voted the number one dive spot in the world with all its jacks, barracuda and sharks.
2nd dive was at Turtle Tomb and on finishing, we were greeted by a massive school of humphead parrotfish.
Last dive, sadly, only 3 divers and the 2 guides saw a loner hammerhead shark while diving at Hanging Garden. The hammerhead was just too far for any pictures and disappeared too fast to get the rest to see.  But it was still a great dive.

Day 3 was horrible as it rained the whole day and the all 3 dive was bad with choppy waters and bad visibility.
1st dive was at Paradise 1 which was the best of the 3. Kapalai and Sandro Point was just frustrating.
The guys that came back from Sipadan  was also disappointed as the visibility was bad.

I would likely not be going with this dive center again as I witness some major problems especially with fuel issues. We were lucky that on our day to Sipadan fuel was ready but the day before and the day after, departure was about 30-45mins later.

Overall, diving was great, nice people but will visit Sipadan with another dive center.

No point saying you wont dive with a particular outfit and not passing on the info to the rest of us to make the same mistake!

Narco, Gavstang,
I stayed on Mabul but not nice to mention them online but on a personal note if someone ask me privately I would tell.
I think you'll agree with me on that it would not be proffesional to batter openly. As I said, it's my personal opinion.

rafidi...do complain with the management of the DC. Now it is no longer cheap diving in sipadan. It is not like we are not paying for the trip.

run....I did mention but to the person but it seems like there was nothing wrong with the setup or things that I mention. Example: I mention that it would be nice to do up the toilet and have a working flush and the answer given was, next time you can maybe stayed in our newer more expensive rooms .... said with a smile!  ;)

No problemo. If that's the way they treat a customer, I bet they will not be there for long. If a service provider fail to appreciate the support of even a single customer, I don't see a reason for us to show that support again. Cheap room user need not to use the toilet is it??
