Hey .. Seven Skies is a good dive site.

Dont need to go deep to see anything interesting....hang around the bridge & that should do it.

Can see giant barracudda & mantas if lucky enough.

In every sport there r risk involved...inc. diving.

:D

I'm organising a trip to the Repulse. You only need to be an Advanced Open Water diver. Top is at 34m too.

Any takers?

We go in December.

Oh BTW..No. 1 Please find out if the LOB you taking for this trip have PERMIT to take you to Seven Skies as I wont want you to ended up being held by the Indonesia Navy.

Having 2 engine on the LOB would be good too, just incase 1 engine break down & you still mobile for safety reason.

Support LOB crew with UW safety for plan deep diving (which is in the RECREATIONAL text book) ..rigging ... emergency deco cylinder(not to be use on purpose) ... Chase boat .... O2 & 1st Aid enough for long journey....O2 & 1st Aid able crew .... Emergency Evac. plan & contacts (who U gonna call? Indo? Mal? Thai?) who is coming to help/assist ..... etc.

Please dont forget to ask yourself 'Are You Ready For This type of Diving?' ... Is going to be Square Profile Diving & please dont miss the Ascend/Decend line...narcosis management(dont need another C-card for this) etc.

Eh dont forget to Do the No. 1 check .... CAN THE LOB Take You There Legaly first with proper Document & Permit, dont forget to bring along your International Passport & do stop over in Batam to get it Stamped there before leaving for Seven Skies.

SD - I didn't know HMS Repulse TOP is at 34m depth, I must have gone to the wrong HMS Repulse or NARC  :laughing11: ... any takers, is better to open-up new thread on HMS Repulse for divers that never been there but would love to do visits but on personal level I wont advice recreational divers to go ahead with HMS Repulse.

Anyway Plan Properly & MAKE sure you have the right plan & follow the plan ... 7 Skies are not like diving shallow wrecks or reef diving which all of us been doing that most of the time  :laughing11: ... is deep but plenty of recreational divers been there.

Build-up your diving skills & if you think you are ready .... if you sure you are ready ... Go for it but do check No. 1 first ya & follow with the rest.

If you have anything constructive to help with 7 Skies diving do add on.

:D

Hi SD,

Am interested in your Repulse dive. But need to know which week. Will be in Kota Kinabalu for a week that month, likely third week till Boxing day.

BF - 1st of all I am just a diver like you .. nowhere near of becoming Sifu or even Master Sifu  :laughing11:

Very good question .. IMO if you know very well about deco & have very good bouyancy, have high level of panic button when getting lost & able to manage your diving when things go wrong at mid water without having to surface, independent self sufficent diver & knows about staging ... safety diving & recovery ...Have you been diving often at depth range of 30-40m & able to do scuba skills at that depth ....etc.

Try do neutral bouyancy in the pool at 3m for 5 mins ...then for 10 mins .... go horizontal & let me know how you get on with it.

BF,

What he means is that u start doing neutral buoyancy at 5min first. Then if u r ok to do 10 min. To do that u can refer to this thread http://malaysianunderwater.com/smff/ind ... 512.0.html

also, from what was recomended above, i would like to add that please improve your physical conditions as there is simply no substitute for good stamina.

a healthy body MAY delay or lessen the effect of N2 narcosis and good stamina and phisical condition will allow the mind to work properly, good mind will lead to good decision making which is vital when you are in critical situation.

How often actually all of us did any workouts or spend time doing some physical exercises. We have to look into this seriously, good preparation and good planning shall minimize all the negative consequences. cheers  ;)

How often? well.... that one each individual must sit down and ask them self.....we can talk until the cows comes home....but it is up to the individual to realise and do something about it.

After being away for awhile, it seams that everybody is eager to go for the Seven Skies.  My final advice for those going for this trip is nothing much from what had been told by SD and Snafu.  Be prepared...  Dive according to your limit.  If you feel that you are not ready, don't do it.  You can enjoy better if you are prepared.  You can always gain experience at other dive sites. Don't feel shy to tourn down this trip if you r not ready.  Take Care.....

Mr.Snafu.. I did! I did!
I manage to keep still on the specific depth like how u ask me to do..in the pool and in the real pic (sea) as well..
what? - I practice my bouyancy at certain depth by depth.
how? - I focused at corals or any non-moving marine life and control my bouyancy to stay put. like staring at anemone and just control my breathing.

ok ar, Snafu sifu? ;)
