Hi Dorothy,

I'm using the FT1 model not the FT3. I don't have manual as well. It is on Underwater Mode.

dorothy i feel sorry for u. U had asked about this twice.
Dorothy i dont have a lumix but i know this all P&S operates software almost the same.
1st you put your camera in your casing. See whether you can use the button of your casing to get to white balance manually.
Read this manual carefully page 102.
http://tda.panasonic-europe-service.com ... qt3l44.pdf
You can go with manual white balance or underwater mode.
Manual white balance- u need to have something in bright color to adjust the white balance that is why divers like to bring slate or some diver just aim at something bright like the palm of their hand.
Or if you think this is complicated enough then try the underwater mode and then fine adjust the red hue or blue hue (also describe in the manual)

When there is no one trying to help , then better just read the manual , be patience on trying to understand all the functions and how to really understand how the manual work.

dorothy. Maybe ur browser block the site.
Anyhow i hope u understand what i listed here.

i'm sure u know how to select scene mode in your camera.
After i read the manual, i found out that ur camera can take underwater pix in 3 modes.
Normal mode , snorkelling and underwater mode.

I show you how to use the normal mode.
I'm sure you understand the operation for pix B(macro mode, flash etc). Pix A is just for you to remember normal mode is shown with a symbol of the camera.

Normal mode scene

This is how you go to select normal mode. This method same apply to select other scene mode

Now after you have select to normal mode. Time to select white balance

White balance Fine Adjust with Underwater mode

Like i said earlier Ft3 is equip with underwater setting good for depth greater than 12m.
U can go to underwater scene mode but when you are in this mode the white balance setting is different than normal mode.
It is called as white balance fine adjusting. This is done by changing the red or blue hue.
you can see that it said that you can do fine adjustment when the white balance (in symbol) Sunny/cloudy/shady/indoor/manual.
You just follow the step one by one

i dont know why but the pix seems not to be in sequence like i wanted !!

Suppose to be pix A and pix B, followed by setting normal mode, after that to white balance setting pix and ended with fine adjust white balance with underwater mode. I just hope u can understand it cause i have been trying quite few times to re-order the pixs but to no vail.

Hi Dorothy,
I only use the Underwater Mode - the one with the fish symbol.
I tried using White Balance.... it sucks ....White balance doesn't work out for me although I have brought down a white mineral water bottle cap to do what run instructed.

I went back to Underwater Mode (Fish symbol)

I guess after all that's said and done....maybe I'm just naturally talented ....

the white bottle cap is the substitute for a white piece of paper or a slate.
If you have a white DC wrist strap, u can even use it as a medium for white balance.

i forgot to mentioned this one particular thing. If you take the underwater pix using normal mode and then suddenly you change to underwater mode, then all the setting that you have when you are in normal mode is reset. So when you change from underwater mode back to normal mode , you have to find all those setting back again.
I dont know if lumix have a custom setting like canon.
Meaning with canon even when you change to other scene but when you want to get back to your custom setting, all the programme are still there. It wont reset.

Hi Dorothy,

My UW casing and Reg , I bring onboard. I never check in these important stuff. Plus, checking in the casing is hazardous because baggage crew will just throw your bags in the baggage compartment of the plane thus , may result in cracking the uw casing. .....
