i found out that taking pix of the rhinopias from the side or when its turn its head makes better pix compare taking it up front unless it opening it's jaw.
From front it almost like a coral which can be a little tricky to show non-diver that the thing is actually a fish.
My non-diver frenz still think that i have met with un-describe/super natural creature coz they cant imagine fish or flamboyant cuttlefish can use its fins and tentacles to walk like on-land creatures.

you r right about that. only when i checked on my iPad did i realise. also wide angle would be better than close-ups. the texture on their beautiful bodies tend to throw our appreciation off

hmm or maybe its my skills lah. ok back to the drawing board!

awesome how you capture the ornate pipefish on the front by emphasizing the eye and having the 2nd ornate pipefish to spice up the whole picture.

if i were to tell you that it was because of my skill..i would be lying! firstly my trusty Olym (my 2nd one, first one drowned in Raja Ampat-sob sob) takes very good pictures. all i do is bring it to a good dive site. it does the rest.

and Ambon is such a blessed place. you would not have to wait for that kodak moment, the very next clump of fern/whip/sand will have a critter waiting to be in your digital album. there were 5 shooter amongst us and we were busy all the time.

now if only they had a change of manager. i would be there every other month.
