Attention to rebreather diver ?

Post Number:#1  Postby Nizaha » Thu Apr 26, 2007 11:15 pm

Howdy Folks

SO far the only person i know in this forum own CCR unit is Snafu hopefully more. I own Closed circuit rebreather ( buddy Inspiration) same as Snafu. I'm thinking to dive with my unit in Malaysia in future which is next April.  Which island have rebreather friendly diveshop ? Having full source of Sofnolime, oxygen, helium and etc. the only place i know like a Tioman Island. BAli Hai and B&j diving. for sure.

How about Sipadan, Redang,Perhentian,Tenggol,Aur,Langkawi,Layang-layang, even in KL ??

What you guys normally do if you guys want to dive at this place with the unit ? Do you carry your own sofnolime?

any thought !!

Safe diving

Zaha

btw this my 101 post...woohooo!! stop talking  :-X

Bro ... is easier to get oxygen as we can de-cant it from the big cylinder.

If diving around Tioman...Aur....Dayang....etc I will bring everything with me.

Whenever flight is involve, I would ship everything in advance & only carry the rebreather head with me.... is cheaper.

We do have few divers interested with rebreather in Malaysia, that is as far as it goes.

Must be the Price & ....Rebreather diving are not for everyone.

Thanks for the answer

Ok regarding about O2.  you mention here that you bring everthing it's include O2 bottle aswell 3ltr right to the island i assume  ::)  What about sofnolime ?? how easy to get Sofno in KL?? I assume you on Liveaboard if you go around AUR/Dayang/Tioman right !! how about other place like Redang ?

Are you not worried if something happen the unit like lost since the unit fly earlier then you ? I 'm agree carry head on my carry on since the little thing so expensive.Anyways who gonna take care your unit when arrive at the airport ? Any special rate that you can pick up for next day or so ?

No doubt about the price.. still RM20K to RM30K per unit.. depend which one you looking at ! We should team teaching for the MUW members in future  ;) like intro CCR ...hehehe that the good things.

Totally agreed, dude! It's the price, maintenance, and price! It's like owning a Maserati. Plus since not many are seen using them, ignorance has kicked in and producing a little scare about its safety. I guess more knowledge about them, more comfy we would be.

If we don't have to pay bloody income tax, may be we can get one ;-) that reminds me to fill in e-filing.. aiyyah!

Rebreather are fun & is safe provided you get proper training.

O2 ... in the 3L cylinder

Sofnolime ... I have stock for myself, always have as I buy the 2Okg tub, if you want to buy some you ca get intouch with Rec&Tec or B&J ... Rec&Tec are in KL.

Redang .... carry sofnolime urself la.

I am not worried with missing CCR in flight as nobody sees it anyway, is lock in the box.... collection can be done wih excess baggage people.... if u have PILOT friends, get them to fly it for U...is FREE.

I did run 1 CCR try-out last year ... http://malaysianunderwater.com/Forums/Y ... 63484898/0

hahahahaaaa ... another ONE? ... HmmmMMmmMMmMMmmm

I do all the servicing myself, stripping it down & build it up .... check the eletrical component & wiring..etc

I might change the O2 sensors connector, will order from RS & DIY.

Even considering changing the head unit to Hammerhead ... still thinking about it.
