Snafu if homebrew rebreather ok or not, cost wise..???

Homemade .... can be done & of course is cheaper.

Who is going to test dive it? You are better to buy Ex-Navy set-up .... rebuild it & dive it.

Anyway SCR are cheap nowdays... get 2nd hand & use it la.

;D

Najib,

Refering to ur quote of being a gas guzzler. My advise is to dive more. The more u dive, more comfortable u will be underwater therefore less movement as such less air consumption. Affer a while without noticing ur air consumption will improve. Also, when youre comfortable u will breathe SLOWLY AND DEEPLY which will also result to better air consumption. Trust me u just need practise and more dives. Frankly speaking when i first started diving, i was a gas guzzler like urself. I could only last for 30 minutes and it sucks big time coz everyone could stay down longer. But after more dives, u become more relaxed, buoyancy improved, finning technique improved then breathing will also improve. All those things plays an important role in breathing consumption. The myth abt having bigger lungs consumes more air is baseless. For example look at Snafu and SD both are big size but their air consumption are good. And also i know someone who is small size but breathes like dragon. My 2 cents worth ;)
