Post Number:#1  Postby Snafu » Tue Sep 16, 2008 2:52 am

GREAT NEWS ... Email the person to find out more for divers that want to do ADAS Part 1, 2, 3 & 4(Saturation/Close Bell).

It will be in SINGAPORE, I have spoken with the person & sounds promising.

ADAS is the recognized industry standard setting body for the dive industry.

Divers must hold these licenses to work internationally.

Sublime Engineering Sdn Bhd (having the Exclusive Right Agent) and New Zealand School of Commercial Diver Training courses include the following courses:

    * ADAS Level 1 – Scuba to 30m
    * ADAS Level 2 – Surface Supply Breathing Apparatus (SSBA) to 30m
    * ADAS Level 3 – SSBA to 50m
    * ADAS Level 4 – Saturation

The dive school is plan to be in Singapore and operates from January 2009.

For further information, feel free to contact us at any time.

The best way to contact us is by email at mohdisnin1966@yahoo.com

If you do wish to phone us you may do so on 012-5151452 (Mr. Isnin)

From:  Commander Isnin RMN (Retired)

Salam.  First of all I would love to say thanks very much to Syed KA.  I hope this Questions & Answers can help and clear some inquiries:

Q.  I’m a x navy clearance diver and/ or also an ADC card holder.  I do not want to delay to be an ADAS 3 diver. What is your advice?

1. Do your IMCA Medical Certificate.  It's only take 1 working day to complete it (if you healthy). You can do it in Ipoh.  (I can arrange for you, prepare RM 400 to 500 if you final in undergo for the course).  Call 05  24  26  23  7.
2. Do your 1 day First Aid/ CPR course with Persatuan Bulan Sabit Merah/ Red Crescent Organization in KL near Jalan Jelatek (Prepare RM 100 to RM 200).
3. Send a copy of your ic to Commander Mohd Isnin bin Ismail @ Ibrahim Khan Royal Malaysian Navy (Retired), C2, Fasa 1D1, 32040, Seri Manjung, Perak. email: mohdisnin1966@yahoo.com
4.  Send a copy of your passport to as above.
5.  Deposit out front RM 5,000 to register your place in the class + air ticket (extra money will be return back).  Deposit to Zanibash Enterprise, Affin Bank 1001  6000  6475.  Send copy of bank deposit form to as above.  Call me at 012  51  51  45  2.
6.  Standby others documents and others requirement when ask by me/ school, example Diving Card, Diving Certificate, Diving Log Books, Overall, Safety Shoe, Booties, Wetsuit, Money (USD 4850 = RPL course, accommodation (can cook inside it), transportation to class.  NZ 1000 = To buy food and things to shopping in New Zealand) and others.
7.  I will send you to Huntly town, near Auckland, North Island, New Zealand for RPL ADAS 3 (a 12 days course) on 22 Oct 2008 (Wednesday) or 3 Nov 2008 (Monday – if you miss the 22 Oct 2008).

Q. I have been diving using SSBA (Surface Supply Breathing Apparatus) all this time and diving to maximum 50 meters.  Am also holding ADC and X navy diver.  Do you run RPL (Recognized Previous Learning) course for experience diver?

1. Yes we do run RPL course for anyone having ADC or X navy diver (experience diver).
2. Actually it is not consider as a course.  It is an exam.
3. A diver will be given a task to perform underwater task at depth (7 days diving) + perform as chamber operator (1 day) + sit for an exam (1 day).  But of course a guide and a small class room time will be organize by Mr ISNIN or other instructor.
4. It’s take about 10 to 12 days + the administration days.
5. The cost RM 18,000 and may be less than that since we conduct it at Singapore .

Q. Do I need to get all the certification ADAS Level 1 to 4?

To involve in oil and gas diving industry this days you need minimum ADAS Level 3, ADAS Level 4 (it's a saturation diving course) an extra for working in oil and gas diving industry (you get more money if you have this).  For a ADAS Level 3 your income per month +- RM 30,000 and for a ADAS Level 4 your income per month +- RM 90,000.

Q. What is the process of being a commercial diver? How much does it cost for each certification?

1. Need to have IMCA Medical Certificate.  It's only take 1 working day to complete it (if you healthy). You can do it in Ipoh.  (I can arrange for you, prepare RM 400 to 500 if you final in undergo for the course)
2. If you have PADI or NAUI or any others certificate just make copies of it for the diving school (since you have dive using SCUBA (Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus) it's an advantage for you to undergo for ADAS Level 1 course).
3. If you have Diving Log Book bring it with you.
4. Must undergo a 1 day First Aid/ CPR course with Persatuan Bulan Sabit Merah/ Red Crescent Organization in KL near Jalan Jelatek (Prepare RM 100 to RM 200).
5. Must undergo ADAS Level 1 + 2 (RM 23,000) and ADAS Level 3 (RM 16,000) or may be less than that since we going to have it in Singapore.
6. When complete ADAS Level 3 with the diving school, you must undergo 3 days BOSIET OPITO course (you can say it's a survival at sea course) in Johore Baru with another establishment (I can arrange for you, prepare RM 2500 to 3000 if you final in undergo for the course).
7. When complete BOSIET OPITO course, you must make/ register a PETRONAS medical clearance card/ certificate in PETRONAS KLCC main building.
8. Than you can start apply as commercial diver through Sublime Engineering Sdn Bhd or by your own to Diving Company throughout the world.

Q.  An exam held after those 3 courses?
If you undergo for ADAS 1+2+3 (period learning 3 months) you must take exam.
If you can go for RPL (period learning 12 days) you must take exam.
If you can go for ADAS 4 (period learning 4 weeks) you must take exam.

Q.  Can I get the medical certificate in Ipoh?
Call 05  24  26  23  7.

Q.  What's the chances of me getting a job after getting my commercial license?
What I can tell you that in Malaysia alone almost all Main Dockyard in Malaysia now building off shore rigs and off shore supporting equipments.  And I just left the navy on 1 Feb 2008 with the rank of Commander appointed as Chief of Staff Operation for Sabah/Sarawak.  One of my last main job with the navy was working with Petronas (Malaysia Main Oil & Gas Company).  And if you have the knowledge which I have now.  Every second and minutes, you will blame your self for not involving your self in this activities.

Q.  Through out the course, will my accommodation be provided?
Yes.

Q.  When the school will be operational?
I just came back from Singapore after visiting/working from 22 Sep 2008 to 24 Sep 2008.  Went to see the school Directors (Mr Peter E Dobbs and Mr Alan Strong).  All the facalities have no problem to activate.  The only small problem is the permission from Singapore Government to approve the operational of the school.  This will delay the starting operatonal time from Jan 2009 may be to Apr 2009.  If the Government of Singapore approved it earlier, we might make it operational earlier than Apr 2009.

Q.  How can I register?
1. Send a copy of your ic to Commander Mohd Isnin bin Ismail @ Ibrahim Khan Royal Malaysian Navy (Retired), C2, Fasa 1D1, 32040, Seri Manjung, Perak. email: mohdisnin1966@yahoo.com
2.  Send a copy of your passport to as above.
3.  Deposit out front RM 1,000 to register your place in the class.  Deposit to Zanibash Enterprise, Affin Bank 1001  6000  6475.  Send copy of bank deposit form to as above.  Call me at 012  51  51  45  2.
4.  Standby others documents and others requirement when ask by me/ school, example Diving Card, Diving Certificate, Diving Log Books, money and others.

Q.  Do the school have accommodation for the students?
Yes.  Generally 3 persons in 1 leaving quarters.  But this information might change depend on the situation.

Q. Do the school have transportation for the students?
Yes.  Only from leaving quarters to the school.

Q.  Do the school provide meal for the students?
No.  But from the leaving quarters to meal shops is only 2 minutes walk.  And at the school we have micro machine to heat up foods.

Feel free to email me if you need more info.

Q.  Where is the location of the school?
RSYC - Republic Singapore Youth Club, Pasir Panjang area.  There will be a diving tender ship and it will alongside a jetty or anchor nearby.

Good Day Mr Isnin,
Greetings from Singapore!

Great to know that you'll be doing saturation course in Singapore. One thing intrigues me though,
have you secured a dive site to do your 50metres practical open water dive? As far as I know,
Maritime Port Authority of Singapore refuses to allow training dives to 50 metres coz most of the deepwater
sites are very near vessel's Traffic Separation zone where ships passes as considerably high speed. its all about safety mate!
I would suggest you talk to Raden Rosli, I'm sure you knew him from your last trip to NZ. He would be able to help you get in touch
with the Port Authority.

Hope the above is of interest.

Salam all bro and sis.

I just came back from New Zealand 2 Nov 2008.  I came back with a little bit disappointed news.  But still, with bad feeling I must tell most of you out there.  After discussion with Mr Alan Strong and Mr Peter  Dobbs Senior, the school decided to remain opening plan in Singapore April 2009.  The school in Singapore will conduct only ADAS 1 (duration 1 month course), ADAS 2 (duration 1 month course), ADAS 3 (duration 1 month course) and ADAS RPL 3 (duration 2 weeks).  ADAS 4 (SAT DIVER duration 4 weeks) will only to be conduct on January 2010.

But still I advice for all interested to undergo ADAS 1, 2, 3, RPL 3 and 4 to keep on early registration.  This to ensure early placing on each course.

Salam

It is going to start in April '09. NZCDT is now refurbishing 1 barge & 1 small DSV for training purposes. From what I understand, the course price is going to be the same as doing it in NZ. But you'll save on flight & accommodation. Food also would not be much of a problem. Its main target market however is not South East Asia.... B-)

That I think is a personal preference. Nobody is going to enrol in a couple of schools doing the same thing just to find out which is the best. What I would suggest is finding out tangible things that you can rate like what the cost is gonna be like, what kind of accommodation on offer, the level of help given when asking for information etc. Write to all the schools you are interested in going to and see for yourself. Get a feel of the person you communicate with. Its gonna cost you a lot of money so you have decide carefully.  B-)

Salam all bro and sis.

This the latest news.  It's an email from Mr Peter Dobbs Senior to me.

From:
"dobbs family"
To:
mohdisnin1966@yahoo.com
Cc:
"Alan Strong"

Gentlemen,

Given your involvement with our diver training school and your interests and involvement in the Asian market, I felt that you should be made aware of the progress and expected time frames for the proposed Singapore School.

Due to both the current strain on the global economy, in particular the declining value of the New Zealand dollar, and difficulty in locating a suitable dive site, the momentum of the move to Singapore has slowed significantly.  We are still fitting out dive vessels in New Zealand that will be able to be used in Singapore (it has become cheaper to do this work here), and the intention is still to set up a school in Singapore.  However, due to the unforeseen and largely uncontrollable circumstances, the time frame is now uncertain and it is most unlikely that we will be operation within 2009.

I apologise for raising expectations that will not now be able to be met in terms of timing, but I will keep you posted on progress and we will aim to do all we can in New Zealand both to meet your training needs from here in the meantime and to work in ways here that ultimately facilitate our move to Singapore and Asia generally.

If you have questions about this or need additional explanations for students please contact my son Peter in the first instance, or me via email.

Bro and sis sorry, it out of my control.  For those who still want to carry on with the course in New Zealand please email to me.

Salam

Hi All,

I'm newbie here.... been following this ADAS courses discussion...really2 interested to join this course...

Cmdr Isnin, I call you last week bout this courses... thanx for the informative info...

Seems like it's hard to open the school in Singapore, why not to establish the school here in Malaysia, wouldn't much more cheaper, low cost, & very great location...
