Hey I'm trying to organize a tech trip to the HMS Repulse and HMS Prince Of Wales between 15 March 2009 and 9 April 2009 let me know if you are interested. Will also be conducting tech training between now and then.

Very very new. Just got certified Deco Proc with Drew in May this year. U were there as well assisting Drew

What is the different between Advance Nitrox & Decompression Pro. & Extended Range?

What is the MAX depth of HMS Repulse??

As for HMS Prince Of Wales ..... How deep can you go with Extended Range cert.?

 

What is the minimum requirement to join this trip? Certified decompression procedure or Extended Decompression or Trimix? What is the targetted diving depth for this trip and what is the planned bottom time? Alot of penetration?

Normoxic is still okay I would think, given the max ATA is 7.6

IMO Air would be OK for the exterior of HMS Repulse & penetration should be done on TriMix or HeliOx.

As for HMS Prince Of Wales(POW) ... TriMix or HeliOx should be the choice, exterior or penetration due to the depth & Low Viz.

The best will always be TriMix or HeliOx, as what you have mention.

FYI...Helium is expensive down here 

 

I knew that about helium is expensive.. I just think about narcotic at depth that all. I know many divers do it and done it, but if something happen well!!! bla bla bla.. but for new divers or new student who want to jump at Repulse with Air. I would say too risky.

Why not just taking step by step, no rush.. That wreck ain't go no way!! taking proper course with proper gas not with AIR at that depth!!

I've done 65m on air. It's no big problem. yes you get a bit narc'ed, yes trimix is a better choice but one can still make both dives on air and be A-OK. Helium is going for .25 sen per liter and O2 at .10 sen so a fill of 18/30 in a set of twins will cost about RM344 times that by 2 dives a day by 3 days diving. Your looking at a gas bill about RM2065 on trimix not counting deco gases. Air= Free!!!

Ok everyone mark your calenders and file those holiday requests for 19-22 march for repulse/pow and 27-29 march for banka/k-17/o-16.
Max depths: (sticking your regulator in the sand)
Repulse= 60m
POW=78m
Banka=60m
K-17=54m
O-16=56m
bottom times are up to you based on your sac rate and buddies sac rates. All divers are required to dive with a buddy no solo diving.
Trip price is RM2400 per diver plus gas fills(Repulse trip). .25 He, .10 O2 per ltr, free 100% O2 surface supply @6m and 4.5m deco stops.
Banka trip is RM1200 + gas fills.

If you still want to come let me know your equipment and gas needs asap.

Ahh yes. I do believe that was adv nitrox tho... You only need to do extended range to make the trip.

Shouldnt i log more dives before doing extended range? Even with that, i still need more dives before even considering those wrecks. I believe its for experienced tekkie
