Bikini Atoll Divers out of business!
« on: June 09, 2008, 07:51:09 PM »

Arrrrgh! Bikini Atoll Divers is out of business......it is now impossible very difficult to achieve my "dream dive trip" of diving the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga and battleship Nagato!! It was too bloody expensive before, now the only way to go there is probably by having your own private yacht (like what Paul Allen of Microsoft did)

What to do, have to make do with Sawadee wreck lor!

I would imagine at least twin tanks + stage so that you can have more bottom time and all will be deco dives. Because of the limited baggage allowance and your heavy dive kit, the recommendation is to only bring your speedos for topside use  :D :D :D

Below is an excerpt from scuba-safari website
"Saratoga is the shallowest dive at Bikini. She sits upright on the seabed 190ft below the surface, but her bridge superstructure can be clearly seen from the surface, being only 40ft down. Spiralling down the bridge you arrive at the flight deck in about 90ft. The gaping maws that are the main elevators lead down to the hanger deck at about 130ft."

More writeup on Saratoga and other Bikini atoll wrecks can be found here:
