Berhala wrecks is actually one wreck. Originally the Gyoshin Maru, it is also known as the Varella Wreck, named after Varella Rock (Batu/Pulau Berhala) off Nenasi, Rompin, Pahang.

Why it is mistakenly thought as two separate wrecks is because the ship was split into two after hitting the reef near the rock; the forward section is closer to the Berhala (Varella) rock, while the stern, which is the more interesting section as there are two anti-aircraft guns emplacements, is 200m away.

Maximum depth here is 20 meters.

Sheik, that wreck where Comrade decoed is in Pemanggil. Next time I dive there I will use the KM 17 dive helmet with surface-supplied air. It is so dangerous to dive using normal scuba there as evident in Comrade's experience.

Or if surface-supply and KM 17 are unavailable, I'll simply use the snorkel.

..... are you talking about the 300m wreck? "very the deep" one.... like SD said either surface supplied or snorkel will suffice. Use OC & CCR at your own risk

 :D :D :D :D

pssst..... only 4 of us (me, SD, Yates & Comrade's staff) went down to both wrecks at Vallera. Hehehehe..... Sorry ye....

The liveaboards go there. There are people who do private trips to the wreck from Nenasi..but rarely because it is not worth it to do a day trip there and pay so much for 2-3 dives because it doesn't look much like a ship anymore.

I am heading there on the 6th & 7th of October with kaleebso (www.kaleebso.com). I'll be driving there and there is 3 more seats in my car. So if there is anybody else heading there we can car pool.

Oh yes I have heard of it. Came out in the maritime bureau bulletin some time back.
