Suunto D6 giving erroneous temperatures
« on: March 30, 2011, 08:41:33 PM »

yo folks

anybody got this problem before? i did 9 dives at Lembeh recently and my Logbook shows the water temp was 68 to 49 degrees centigrade? i tried setting the units to metric before the next dive and it is still wacky..

my wife has a D4 and the temp was 28-29 deg centigrade.

So far i dont have this prob with my D6.
only my compass is unable to calibrate due to my own mistake. i accidentally bring my D6 into MRI room with 1.5T magnetic field strength... arrrggghh...

For your case, there are 2 possibilities. the first one, the temp sensor already "kaput" or defective. you can identify this by changing the unit to imperial and observe the value changes.. Second possibility, something wrong with the software. Need to reload the software again. In both cases, you need to send back your dive comp to Suunto authorize dealer or directly to Suunto finland.

good luck

Hi oldturtle.. if the dealer has proper training and able to do what u need, then they will do it in their shop/dive shop, but most of the case, they will send to finland.
i sent my D6 in germany last week (since i have job here), i already collected it back today with new battery and new elastomer strap. They did it in germany itself.
