A scenario to be discussed
« on: September 15, 2007, 03:56:49 PM »

A scenario here to be discussed:-

1. Hit by Super strong current, you and your buddy drifted deep into the blue water.
2. at 40 meters depth
3. your buddy ran out of air and you have only 30 bar air which enough for one person to ascend up.

What would you do?

(A scenario taken from Umizaru)

always check ur depth and air.. ALWAYS! atleast every 10mins..
keep the gap no more than a meter from my dearest buddy..
must not be so brave to try a small small tiny hole (u think u re so small meh)? should u know and realize ur size and the hole size.. i love dive thru, swim thru.. but still have to acknowledge safety first.

wats the most important here is BUDDY SYSTEM!
wondering if u agree with me..

p/s: ill add more soon when i can think of..

donno yet, bc usualy emergency situation will make me think more than i can now..
but one thing in my mind - i will try to help my buddy out wit the air left.. if he / she can go in that scene, there must be a way to go out from there..
theres a will, there have to be some way.

If i'm facing such situation, these are what i will do:-

#1. i will never leave my buddy.
#2. I will do buddy breathing and cesa at the same time ascending slowly from 40 mtrs depth to the surface without any stops.
#3. immediate admitted myself into O2 chamber. (as the possibilities getting DCS are very high).

Errr, i know the rule of thumb is to save yourself first. But what if your buddy is your wife or husband?

Can you still save yourself and let your other half drown? Or both try to make it up together, DCS and all.... and hope for the best? I will take later option....

achhoooo...scary la this, [-(   1) ascend safely with buddy performing alternate air source
                                         2) if you made it safely at 9-10meters & run out of air perform CESA
                                         3) if you & your buddy didnt make it to 10meters & out of air, perform
buoyant emergency ascend...which is release weight lay horizontal position
                                             make aaahhh sound like CESA

At this point i dont want to get drown....well might have to monitor DCS signs & symptoms later ;)
