If u have technical background ... ie. mechanical & electrical would be an advantage.

Just make sure is not THEORY only, you need to have hands on.

Added advantage:

1. Rigging
2. Machine repair hands on
3. Basic electrical hands on
4. Hydraulic hands on

Added Value:

1. Can make good coffee/tea
2. Can make good sandwich
3. Good at housekeeping

snafu,

if you only have minimal experience in technical to start with? is it enough to start with plus the hands on training during the commercial diving course? or should i get extra training for that?

again appreciate the help.

Bro...fyi commercial diving training is just like any other scuba diver or technical diver training, it does not prepare you for the actual diving work, is only good for safe diving & learning about the equipment.

When you go for your first job ... that is when you will 'learn' about the job.

10% subsea & 90% Top side.

Would be good for you to learn about knots...splicing rope....Now.

I known divers that started of not knowing anything....maybe because the industry is in demand right now.

I know how to do knots, I'm a King Scout last time. ;) ;) ;)

If I'm 10 yrs younger, maybe can consider to change my job. I'm too old liao. With my degree in Marine Technology, I think it's a good help.

Jon, you are still young. Learn whatever you can now. You can do it! As long as you want to learn, the sky is the limit!

Opps...I forgot you are my instructor liao.  :P :P :P
