Salam. First of all I would love to say thanks very much to Syed KA. I hope this Questions & Answers can help and clear some inquiries:
Q. I’m a x navy clearance diver and/ or also an ADC card holder. I do not want to delay to be an ADAS 3 diver. What is your advice?
1. Do your IMCA Medical Certificate. It's only take 1 working day to complete it (if you healthy). You can do it in Ipoh. (I can arrange for you, prepare RM 400 to 500 if you final in undergo for the course). Call 05 24 26 23 7.
2. Do your 1 day First Aid/ CPR course with Persatuan Bulan Sabit Merah/ Red Crescent Organization in KL near Jalan Jelatek (Prepare RM 100 to RM 200).

6. Standby others documents and others requirement when ask by me/ school, example Diving Card, Diving Certificate, Diving Log Books, Overall, Safety Shoe, Booties, Wetsuit, Money (USD 4850 = RPL course, accommodation (can cook inside it), transportation to class. NZ 1000 = To buy food and things to shopping in New Zealand) and others.
7. I will send you to Huntly town, near Auckland, North Island, New Zealand for RPL ADAS 3 (a 12 days course) on 22 Oct 2008 (Wednesday) or 3 Nov 2008 (Monday – if you miss the 22 Oct 2008).
Q. I have been diving using SSBA (Surface Supply Breathing Apparatus) all this time and diving to maximum 50 meters. Am also holding ADC and X navy diver. Do you run RPL (Recognized Previous Learning) course for experience diver?
1. Yes we do run RPL course for anyone having ADC or X navy diver (experience diver).
2. Actually it is not consider as a course. It is an exam.
3. A diver will be given a task to perform underwater task at depth (7 days diving) + perform as chamber operator (1 day) + sit for an exam (1 day). But of course a guide and a small class room time will be organize by Mr ISNIN or other instructor.
4. It’s take about 10 to 12 days + the administration days.
5. The cost RM 18,000 and may be less than that since we conduct it at Singapore .
Q. Do I need to get all the certification ADAS Level 1 to 4?
To involve in oil and gas diving industry this days you need minimum ADAS Level 3, ADAS Level 4 (it's a saturation diving course) an extra for working in oil and gas diving industry (you get more money if you have this). For a ADAS Level 3 your income per month +- RM 30,000 and for a ADAS Level 4 your income per month +- RM 90,000.
Q. What is the process of being a commercial diver? How much does it cost for each certification?

2. If you have PADI or NAUI or any others certificate just make copies of it for the diving school (since you have dive using SCUBA (Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus) it's an advantage for you to undergo for ADAS Level 1 course).
3. If you have Diving Log Book bring it with you.
4. Must undergo a 1 day First Aid/ CPR course with Persatuan Bulan Sabit Merah/ Red Crescent Organization in KL near Jalan Jelatek (Prepare RM 100 to RM 200).
5. Must undergo ADAS Level 1 + 2 (RM 23,000) and ADAS Level 3 (RM 16,000) or may be less than that since we going to have it in Singapore.
6. When complete ADAS Level 3 with the diving school, you must undergo 3 days BOSIET OPITO course (you can say it's a survival at sea course) in Johore Baru with another establishment (I can arrange for you, prepare RM 2500 to 3000 if you final in undergo for the course).
7. When complete BOSIET OPITO course, you must make/ register a PETRONAS medical clearance card/ certificate in PETRONAS KLCC main building.
8. Than you can start apply as commercial diver through Sublime Engineering Sdn Bhd or by your own to Diving Company throughout the world.
Q. An exam held after those 3 courses?
If you undergo for ADAS 1+2+3 (period learning 3 months) you must take exam.
If you can go for RPL (period learning 12 days) you must take exam.
If you can go for ADAS 4 (period learning 4 weeks) you must take exam.
Q. Can I get the medical certificate in Ipoh?

Q. What's the chances of me getting a job after getting my commercial license?
What I can tell you that in Malaysia alone almost all Main Dockyard in Malaysia now building off shore rigs and off shore supporting equipments. And I just left the navy on 1 Feb 2008 with the rank of Commander appointed as Chief of Staff Operation for Sabah/Sarawak. One of my last main job with the navy was working with Petronas (Malaysia Main Oil & Gas Company). And if you have the knowledge which I have now. Every second and minutes, you will blame your self for not involving your self in this activities.
Q. Through out the course, will my accommodation be provided?
Yes.
Q. When the school will be operational?
I just came back from Singapore after visiting/working from 22 Sep 2008 to 24 Sep 2008. Went to see the school Directors (Mr Peter E Dobbs and Mr Alan Strong). All the facalities have no problem to activate. The only small problem is the permission from Singapore Government to approve the operational of the school. This will delay the starting operatonal time from Jan 2009 may be to Apr 2009. If the Government of Singapore approved it earlier, we might make it operational earlier than Apr 2009.

Q. Do the school have accommodation for the students?
Yes. Generally 3 persons in 1 leaving quarters. But this information might change depend on the situation.
Q. Do the school have transportation for the students?
Yes. Only from leaving quarters to the school.
Q. Do the school provide meal for the students?
No. But from the leaving quarters to meal shops is only 2 minutes walk. And at the school we have micro machine to heat up foods.
