Ok bro,

You need to check during that time if the weather going to be cold.

Better of to have coverall ..big size so u can wear something warm underneath.

BTW..what kind of advice you need? I know some of the members in MUW just came back from TUCT recently.

I'm actually in perth now, and will be here until next year, i have a friend, currently doing ADAS part 3 in TUCF, he's finishing up by next week.As to the weather, october would be spring time, surface temp would be somewhere around 12-30 degree celcius. As you go along, it would be very hot even to the 40s. summer=december=flies

Ive been diving here for quite some time, u/w temp is usually around 15-18 degrees, its the same be it winter, summer and whatnot. But I'm no commercial diver, just a leisure diver.I think its gonna be colder if you're 40 meters down.

A bit on fremantle,

It's a small harbour town,30 mins driving to perth,  very calm on weekdays, but can be very crowded on weekends, very laid back, everything is very slow paced, although there's a night club in town. you can literally lay down on the streets at night  ;). A lot of eateries, flea markets, there's also a diveshop near the seaport authority. its called Diveskisurf, if i'm not mistaken, lots of shore diving spots, transfer jetty to Rottnest Island, lots of fishing spots as well. A lot of things to discover in fremantle really, but the best thing is, you dont have to drive, everything is within walking distance, well almost. That's all I can think of for now, if you need more assistance, I'm more than happy to help, just leave a msg.

give me a buzz when ure in town!

We did our senior 1st aid 2 years ago...hopefully they'll accept...you think we need DAN oxygen provider?

As long as the first aid cert is valid still, They will accept.

and isnt DAN O2 provider given together with their course??.. at TUCT they do.

Sorry, but I was under the impression that CPR certifications is good for 24 months, thereafter, retraining is needed. But I think diving school will train new divers to Diving First Aid at Work standard which includes Oxygen Provision for diving injuries. Initial training is compulsory so it should be in the course content. Anyhow, All the best n dive safe!

Try checking St John Ambulance Malaysia, if they don't conduct Senior First Aid, check with them if their Workplace at Work supersede the Australian St John's Senior First Aid. Better still if you can find any DAN Instructor in Malaysia who can certify DAN Senior First Aid coz DAN SFA is equivalent to St John's. If not, you can do the Senior First Aid course in TUCF, its a 2 days course.

hope the above helps...

Hello guys

earlier today, I met up with a senior Instructor of TUCF for lunch, he basically lectured me on how the course is carried out from A to Z. He also provided me with some info on the package that he runs since 2006, inc. everything from flight tickets (KUL-PERth-KUL), accommodation in fremantle, transportation from the place to TUCF and everything in between. If you wanna get hold of him, please PM me. More than happy to help out. Cheers!
