Hola!
« on: April 27, 2007, 09:58:15 AM »

Hiya everione...

I'm Sofia aka Mrs Najib..Yup, Got introduced to this funky informative webby by hubby and here i am!  ;)

M still an infant in  this new diving-arena but I'm interested to learn more from you guys...

Maybe some tips for someone who is trying hard to refresh in the pool but still cant seems to hold my breath long enuff and descend welll underwater while in pool..=p Is it because I don't exhale smoothly?

Also, need your guys two cents worth- Both hubby and I might be heading to Tgganu this Oct. So, which is better?- Pulau Perhentian/Pulau Redang?

Thanks all...
 :)

Welcome to MUW Mrs Najib.

I, too, am a newbie in diving (still a beginner) but they made me a moderator of this forum because I am online almost all the time ;D

One Q: why do you need to hold your breath to descend? You're supposed to exhale.

As for Terengganu this October..hmm...that's smack bang monsoon season. ;D

Welcome To MUW.....Sofiaizani!!!!!

October is very close to Monsoon, you might ended up doing MONSOON DIVING during that time.

Pulau Perhentian sounds good or maybe you can do Tioman insted.

 ;D

Hi SeaDemon,

Sorry for the confusion. Lemme elaborate my question further. How come I still cant  descend right to the bottom of a pool (as a self-refresher course) altho I continuously exhale? Is it because I ran out of breath? Or is it just a normal habit for newbies to holdback their breath instead of continuosly exhaling- thinking there are none to exhale?

Yup, well aware of the monsoon season but cant resist a free air asia tix  ;) Hence the need to check out the best place to dive in Tgganu. Been hearing that Perhentian is the best so far..How true is that as compared to other islands in Tgganu? - beats me i dunno ? will definitely dive more into your info in the webby !

Thanks all!

It's probably due to shallow breathing..or you are not properly weighted. If you need help at the pool, do let me know. I'm available this Sunday (hopefully) if you and husband are free. Or weekdays even.

Hmm..I don't know which dive centers are open in October...they may be some but getting to the islands can be a rough and scary ride...unless if you fly to Redang.

As for which island is a preference, I still have this bias for Perhentian. Dive sites are nice, simple and all are just around the corner.
