"Howdy" all from an American in KK
« on: June 19, 2009, 01:38:24 PM »

Hey everyone, greetings from KK! I just got my OW certification through Sabah Divers last week, and I'm already looking forward to more diving! If I feel pretty comfortable after another few dives, I might move on to try some specialties. Deep, navigation and fish ID are the most interesting to me right now.

I have already joined Scuba Board but saw this site while searching for something unrelated (maybe masks or something? I forget). Hope to meet some of you at some point in the future!

Welcome!

Are you living in KK now? I am sure I will see you out and about in TARP over the next few weeks if so.

Happy diving! Who did you learn with, Nev or Jason?

Yeah I had Nev. Great instructor. Look forward to diving with him in the future! I plan on doing a few recreational dives in the next couple weeks and then if I feel okay I'll maybe take Deep or Navigation. Also interested in Marine ID. Will probably stick with SSI as much as possible as far as the training goes.

See you out there!

Good plan, get a few more dives under your belt and get the experience up, then move on to further courses when you are confident.

Nev has done just about all of my training in the past and I have learnt a huge amount from him. He also has a very good eye for spotting things, which is great when I bring my camera along, he always finds me something interesting to photograph.

See you out diving in the park soon!

Ah, now I know who to dive with until I get myself an underwater camera!  B-)
