well, while we all wait for Ummi with her detail dive report; Scubabunny and Carmen on the survey results  kiss, here's some pictorial report.

Our journey begins with:

The driver from Mumbai.
Notice the:
1. bizarre purple colored Native-American-Indian-ostrich-feather charm hanging on his rear view mirror. This charm has attracted the local medicine man* and blessed our journey (to reach the Enlightenment).
2. crotch light; or rather the light coming out from his crotch.
3. Arnold Palmer's umbrella on top left corner. I guess this is why Ummi titled this report: Not the Umbrella!

A footnote (*)
There will be a story on The local medicine man blessing the truck

One* of the passengers (with some weird pop-up pillows) looking thru the window. She does only gaze, maze and laze while the sun rises on the Terengganu coastline.
A footnote (*)
This passenger does nothing along the journey but sleeping and waking up smiling. No words uttered.

Our room at Redang Kalong. Nice, spacious, and airy.
Notice:
1. the blue-colored towels for both couple: Bijan and DP
2. Bijan has reached some level of 'height' while lying on his bed. DP managed to shy away from the frame.

Well, since Sheik is kinda tied up with the MIDE pre-works and all, let me continue and finish the report.

The Mumbai driver picked up Sheik, Bijan and I, and left KL around 11.30pm. Scuba Bunny, Carmen & Julian left earlier while Bajaulaut and wifey were already at Merang.

So, after change of drivers* and a few stops (we actually stayed a bit and watched Spain vs Russia 3-0 and final quarter of Saving Private Ryan), we finally reached KT.

*This driver thot he was in Sepang and main2 corner one. I couldn’t sleep and was holding on the seat for dear life. And so were DP & Bijan.

Sunrise

.......

Oh, about the ‘blessing’.

About 7.45 am, all hungry and looking for a good nasi dagang stall. We spotted one at the other side of the road (lots of customers, so the place should be good) and we also noticed an old man (local medicine man, eh?) by the roadside.
Well, we thot that he was going to cross the road – we did a u turn to park the Ranger and he stopped us. Then, he slowly touched and suddenly kissed or as Sheik said, ‘blessed’ Lady Boss, Shafi’s Ranger.
Alright, something is definitely not right here. ‘Our journey is blessed by the medicine man!’ Yeah right.
The next thing we know, one of the restaurant’s staff walked to him and seriously whacked him on the head! Pity the old man.
As for the nasi dagang, there were weird looks on a couple of faces – luckily I ate the roti.

We met up with the others later at the jetty and left for Redang Kalong at 9.00am.

Day 1

Dive #1 - Turtle Bay or (Chagar Utan)

Fish: DP &  Miezegreat
Invert: Bijan & Bajaulaut
Substrates: Scuba Bunny & Carmen
Impacts: Sheik & Julian

Time in: 11.27am
Bottom time: 53 mins
Max depth: 12.5m
Avg depth: 9.4m
Viz: 10m
Temperature: 29 Celcius

Results - Mostly hard coral and rocks, lotsa snappers (we counted 1400 ekors at the transect line only)
Other Stuffs - White tip shark, green turtle, triggerfish, a few moorish idols

Dive #2 - Marine Park (Jetty Dive)

Fish: Bajaulaut & Bijan
Inverts: Sheik & Carmen
Substrates: DP & Miezegreat
Impacts: Scuba Bunny & Julian

Time in: 2.58pm
Bottom time: 66 mins
Max depth: 6.4m
Avg depth: 4.8m
Viz: 5-10m
Temperature: 29 Celcius

Results - 60% Rubble, big amount of rubbish and a few pvc structures but not much corals grown on it. This is at THE marine park, surprise, surprise!
Other Stuffs - Triggerfish, surgeon fish

When we surfaced, there was a large group of people in orange jackets looking at us at the jetty. Did we do a grand surface? Or were they all thinking why the heck are divers diving under the jetty? … Nah, they were just waiting for their boats tongue

No Muppet Moments. Good.

After the dives, we cleaned up and rested. DP has already pengsan-ed on the bed and missed the BBQ dinner. Sheik wanted do a photography session, but we were all tired.

Sheik caught in a batik

All went to bed early and it took me like 5 minutes to sleep bcoz of someone’s* karaoke-ing downstairs.

*One of us – who eh?

zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Sheik wanted to do a photography session. That's when some mumbled, 'Not the umbrella!'
After some shots, we went to visit MACHA who just came back from his Komodo trip @ Gypsy Divers next door. And met other MUW members as well - Zephyr, Bjorn, Sheila, Poisson & Sepet.

Notice the Arnold Palmer's umbrella somewhere?

Night came, had dinner - and a karaoke session. Woohoo! Look who got the mike.

I want it that way ~

These boots are made for walking ~
hehe, we shud get the girls do the dance moves for the girls trip  winkk

Guess, a lot of people were wide awake until we finished!  smile
