Yup. Been learning quite a lot from this forum, especially from Memphisto. I'm a total beginner. My first freedive is last weekend in tioman. I didnt go very deep, just trying to get the feel of freedive. The deepest i went maybe is 5-9m i think la,haha.  Hopefully can find a buddy that i can join and maybe learn some more on freediving. Do you freedive 40bar?

Kena tahan nafas la,if not,sure die,haha
kidding man,hehe

As far as i know,if you can tahan nafas for 1 minute, then u can freedive descent down to approximately 10m and up. Got more thing to pay attention too like compensation and mental and body relaxation.
U freedive Zurr?

I only freedive once, haha, i don't know what to call that, recreational freediving i think. I just dive down, stay on the bottom then swim along the coral, then go up. Not sure how many meter though. It was in tioman, the snorkeling guide said around 30 feet deep. I'm itching to go freedive again, but got no partner la, my friends are all afraid of water. They just do snorkeling with life jacket.

Bro Johnny,u can do 50m DNF rite? Thats really great man..i only manage to do 25-30m i think.

Guys,if got any plan on freediving trip, dont forget to inform me ya,hahaha ;)

I got to know that there's a Dutch lady who give AIDA courses somewhere in Perhentian. But she's not stationed there, need to arrange an appointment.  ;)

One thing that I always wonder is why are these people do not need to equalize? Painful right?

I believe there is different method in equalizing the pressure in sinus, using our tongue. Don't know how to do it though

Hey everyone,

one thing for a start, because I have read a lot from people on the forum hyperventilating before freediving:
Please do not hyperventilate before freediving! It is dangerous and can get you into serious trouble. And make sure that you always have a buddy with you when freediving!

Now for what I initially wanted to say: There are a lot of freedivers out in Malaysia now and their numbers are increasing!
They are in the process of forming the first Malaysian freediving club and are arranging training meetings now.
Also, we have the First Malaysian Pool Freediving Championships coming up in December, so there will be your chance to get your international AIDA ranking or even an official Malaysian record!

If you want to improve your skills or find out how it works, check out http://wefreedive.org - we are giving courses in KL every month and find us on facebook: http://facebook.com/wefreedive

:)
