The University of Hertfordshire Alumni Association Malaysia (UHAAM) presents ‘The Underwater Log - A Personal Diving History’ with guest speaker Professor Reza Sotudeh held at the UH regional office on 22nd May 2007, from 7pm.
The talk explores how a recreational activity became a life style and a conservation mission, sharing with the audience a wide range of images and pictures that he’s taken from his many dives. In addition to this, he will also be sharing what gadgets and technology is used in modern day scuba/salvage.
About Prof Reza Sotudeh:
Professor Reza Sotudeh started scuba diving in 1989 and has had an excess of 300 recorded dives. He dives for Sport and Marine Conservation world wide, including post Tsunami salvage and conservation efforts in Phuket Island), Koh Phi Phi and Similan Islands (The International effort to clean the debris off the Island). The slide show will include footage from Red Seam Honolulu and Bali, etc.
As UH Head of School for Computer Engineering and 'Professor of Fish and Chips( as in micro chips)' as known amongst his diving buddies, he expressed that he hopes to add a light hearted touch about 'sinking from academic heights to sandy bottoms'.
Admission is absolutely FREE and followed by refreshment and cocktails.
