seems like you guys having fun with the new equipment. cool full face mask, i wonder can you change the lens to power lens?

What's the advantage of a full face mask?

It looks like you don't have to do any more mask clears.

(Actually it looks like it's impossible to do mask clears.)

It was a great session at the pool, it was not a normal pool session as Snafu had several new toys for testing by members. The full face mask definately looked cool, divers testing out the underwater scooter in the pool and Snafu testing out the rebreather and even several others senior and tech divers doing twin tank dives as well!!

As for me, many thanks to sifu Seademon and sifu Snafu for giving us valuable advise on the safety procedures of underwater deployment of sausage. Thanks also to Poisson for letting me and Dragon Fly share his air tank

Had a great time learning at the pool with everyone and thereafter to the delicious nasi ayam kampung ..... mmmmm.... yummy

Looking forward to more pool sessions to come!

you still can do mask clearing - a move that is a lil bit more unorthodox, but quite simple to execute.

snafu will show u how.

you can also mutter : "Luke, i am your Far-der.. hiiiisssssk hiiiiiisssssk" to best effect (only need to insert 'the imperial march' theme song)

I just read about the full face. The advantages:

1. It's more comfortable when diving in cold water, when used with a hood that covers the ears.

2. It's upgradeable with communications gear to talk underwater to the boat or to other divers.

it's designed to be able to use any ordinary open-circuit regulators that has ordinary mouthpiece setup, which means pretty much all the regulators that we've been using so far.

I like the free feeling of breathing, definitely wont be having the jaw fatigue thingy if you're diving for a long time, with the add-on for communicator is a plus but removing the mask for an alternate air-source during emergency can be a bit tricky, possibly fatal too unless the diver remain calm. other than that, I'd take it anytime for my underwater shooting especially with the communicator... it'd be nice be chat-chatty underwater.

From the manual..to do mask clearing just purge ur reg. Apparently there's an exhaust that clearsout the water while purging

There was a manual, meh? Trust me not to read such things.

Another way to clear the mask is to close the exhaust (by blocking the exhaust with your hands) of ur regs and blow away. the one-way valve will then release the water, much like a 'normal' mask clearing. A lot easier, if u ask me, coz u dont have to tilt your mask.

The dump (one-way) valve is located at the chin area of the mask.
