Grrrrr, was looking for info on this trip last week, but couldn't find. Only now I find this subject
Actually just got back from this trip. Was ok lah. Conflicting reports about the actual no of divers who went (figures from 100-200) but it was chaos!
4 dives? Only 2 actually, and only 1 for the actual clean up. Grrrr :protest:Other one was via voucher, i.e leisure dive. Fortunately, promoter managed to nego for 1 extra dive. So ended up doing 4 dives (paid for extra 1) So I guess u can say 4 dives lah!
YAB MB Terengganu officiated and dived during the trip. Very de glamour. Everyone was taking pictures with him just before clean-up....including your truly
The Good1. Think it was real cheap, despite paying for 1 dive. And also coz ripcurl graciously pinjam his gear. Auuw..
2. Made new friends, learnt more on diving eg. pointers. Met Jep (err dunno MUW name) and chicanos (tukang ambik gambar I masa posing with certificates) Tks chicanos
3. Melantak makan, esp BBQ
4. Titan trigger passed right beside me, and I survived to write this now!
5. Free t-shirts. Like the red redang reef clean-up one. Been wearing it everyday since got it
6. Lots of ppl were impressed with MUW tee that I wore. Had to explain about mascot and the legend of the kain pelikat. Marketing untuk MUW and seasir beb!
The Not So Good1. Organisation could've been better. Most of us understood the complexity in handling the no. of divers, but we could at least have been better informed on developments and changes to itenarary. Many divers pissed about reduction from 4 to 2 dives.
2. When we're about to cast off for clean up, my BCD and reg got lost
(panic kejap, coz pinjam from ripcurl & sealantis). Guess what, it was on MB's boat! They loaded it on the wrong boat (MB's boat of all)!So had to go over to his site (different from others) to get it. But at least found it. Thanks Ripcurl for loaning gear - oxycheq and ripcurl suit is best!). Thanks sealantis for loaning reg.
3. Wreckdive was helluva experience. Macam sandstorm on the seabed once descended. Last-last virtually all went back up after doing safety stop.
All in all, it was ok. Tks to fadly jd for informing me of the trip, zahari for driving his car to and from merang and to ina (promoter).
