Snafu, you're officially a 'conservationist' / 'environmentalist'.  ::) Except when you're working.  ;) Remember that fire coral growing on underwater pipes are also considered "REEF". LOL

Nice one! Done oredi.

I try my very best to balance my diving life  :( as the demand for fuel goes higher,  oil&gas exploration goes higher too.

All of you contribute directly & indirectly towards the ocean exploration for oil&gas....destruction of the corals.

What you all trying to protect is only place that you see & dive into  ::), as for me I have seen more of it  :o  so I do try my very best to balance it out, to help & protect what you all see & shout about.

8-) In the end of the day, the fuel & gas that you burn everyday, is the reason why ocean exploration for Oil&gas happen.... crave for the black gold.

Do I really care about it? YES I do .... lets work with it, not against it  :P

Bwahahahahahahahahaahaa!!!!! MINIMUM IMPACT PEOPLE!!!!!!

Hahahaa...I joined the Marine Park/Tuna Bay Clean-up last week towards the end of my trip to Perhentian. I asked a very senior person from the dept how the removal of COT and rubbish can actually have an impact on coral reefs...so I raised the issue of dive-sie management (open only some dive sites, close some for half the season) and reintroducing triton Shells at the closed dive site..at the same time actually get the Marine Park people out to patrol these places against poachers...no answer

Bro...not to worry, I have a back-up plans currently running to do Actual PATROL at Marine Park using proper boat which the money comes from the tax payers pocket.

The North Korea & China are interested to work with me on this matter... will update you as it goes. They are willing to provide few gun boat to patrol Marine Park with minimum pay.

Their Offer:

a. Close some sites & open some sites
- CB90 will do the patrol for this area

b. All dive site will have proper mooring bouy with concrete anchor
- We do pay for marine park so they will put it in the water PROPERLY, not just CHUCK it in the water
- Nan Tiang Long 900 will do the JOB

c. Do frequent Check on LOB
- Caught with offence, sink it ASAP
- North Korea & China are working on this.... hard to agree as both wants to do the sinking
- Might use Submarine for this

d. Every boats that goes in & out will be search at Jetty Of Orgin
- They wont ask Malaysia Jabatan Laut to do this...so they will do it personaly
- Ak 47 is a must with full clip & full spare clip ready to go .... Safety Off

Well as I said... discussing further with them & they are very interested to do it.

Then again, With the yearly budget that the goverment give ... so much more can be done.

 ;D

When you go fishing, you either kill (if you take the fish) or injure the fish (by removing the hook and releasing it). So you decide which one is motivated by hunger and which is motivated by mere fun.

Spearfishing by breath-holding would be the prefered method as you will have an intended target, hold your breath and shoot it. You cannot last long pursuing an escaped prey on one breath.  If you can maintain the same aim (purpose) while using scuba, then it would be acceptable. meaning, you want to eat something, you go down in search for it, spear, and come back up.  Cook the fish according to what you feel like eating, consume the whole lot, and nothing good is wasted.

What I cannot tolerate is people spear fish for fun, take two Coleman-container-full of fish, some you know no one would eat, and these fish get wasted just like that.
