I wonder what the big deal is.

To be fair, sharks, rays and puffer fishes are food fishes for us here.

Are we against shark FINNING (i.e. chopping off the fins and then dumping the still alive sharks back into the sea to drown) or the eating of sharks per se? The sharks all seem intact with their fins. What about shark liver oil health supplements? Where is the oil extracted from, if not from shark livers?

Besides are we going to stop eating pari bakar? Or fugu sashimi for that matter? Why should we continue eating kembong, sardines, bawal, tenggiri and other fish as well if we cannot eat sharks and rays, or for the adventurous, puffer fish? Are we all divers to be vegans?

I have photographed turtle eggs being sold in the Kuala Terengganu market as well. So?

Forgot to mention that the French eat horses, pheasant, frog legs and snails as well. So I really wonder what is the point of highlighting the photographs of seafood that is available on our shores.

It's not like we are munching down on coelacanths here.

And as an interesting point to note, coelacanths can be found in Manado!

However at depths beyond the limits for most of us - 100m-300m. Google Sulawesi Coelacanths for more information.

What a pity. We know this is happening for a long time but wonder why no action is taken by the authorities . I think in the future we will only see this marine life in the market.
