Vitamin Supplements: Keeping fit during diving
« on: May 10, 2007, 12:29:27 AM »

Thought that this might interest you.

Studies have shown that diving (especially during an ascent) may negetively affect your immune system. Apparently acending is a stress that prompts the body to produce excessive super oxide which is detrimental to your immune system.

Therefore, you may be more susceptible to infection post diving (especially in multiple dives). It's shown that taking vitamin supplements (Vitamin C and E) may reduce this effect on your immune system.

Multivitamins works for me... I always use this brand.. Berroca by Bayer and Mutlivitamin caplets... Always always hydrate yourself with plenty of water .. Cut down smoking if possible & plenty of rest ...

IMHO Divers are prone to sickness due to long travel, extreme weather.... Your body will have less immunity if you are lack of rest & tired

As a dive instructor.... DCS always a risk... always go up and down
