The only way that the air quality can be assured is if the dive centre does an air purity test twice a year.
To comply to EN 12021 or EN 132 the air purity test results must be as follows:
Carbon monoxide (CO) max. 15 ml/m³
Carbon dioxide (CO2) max. 500 ml/m³
Water vapour and condensate max. 25 mg/m³
The air must be without odour or taste.
Oil Mist (droplets or mist) shall not exceed 0.5 mg.m3.
or if you choose to comply to OSHA Grade D
Carbon Monoxide (ppm):10
Carbon Dioxide (ppm):1000
Oil (Condensed Hydrocarbons) mg/m3: 5
Odor: lack of noticeable odor
Now you have the information, the question is what are you going to do about it?
Boycott dive centres which do not have proof of a scheduled air purity test by a 3rd party?
