NAUI dive tables allow less dive time than PADI dive tables

Naui dive tables

Conrad B at scubadiver.info has a great article comparing the dives of two divers from both agencies. He finds that for the same dives, Naui dive tables give less dive time - as much as 30% less. It’s clear that Naui, being more technical, is also more conservative.

Since the dive tables of both agencies can be so different and since most divers rely on dive computers instead, this begs the question: Which dive computer is the most conservative and by how much? That’s fodder for another great article!

For detailed explanation of the workings of both the Naui and the Padi dive tables, read scubadiver.info’s other great article, Dive Tables Explained.
