AirAsia: Scuba divers are terrorists

airasia

Someone passed me a link to Air Asia’s FAQ on baggage the other day. On the second page is this question: Is scuba diving equipment allowed as checked baggage?

Answer : Scuba diving equipment is classified as a Dangerous Goods, therefore, its acceptance is conditional. Please contact our Call Centre for more information.

That’s funny considering I’ve brought my gear in my bag without problems before. This official stance doesn’t seem to translate for the ground staff.
