The thieves must have been quite surprised to find two short “garden hoses” attached to ugly looking bits of plastic instead of the prized laptop they thought they got.
They’d broken into the car of MUW member Deepblu during the Scuba Dynamics Divers Night party on Friday 30th November. Inside the bag was a used Poseidon Cyklon regulator, an old Aqualung Conshelf regulator and some tank straps. Altogether worth about RM3,000.
Deepblu had left the bag in his car parked on the road underneath Scuba Dynamics. When he came back, he found his car opened and his rear triangle window smashed in.
The Poseidon regulator bag looks like a laptop bag, said Deepblu. And that’s why the thieves probably took it.
So, beware of leaving your regulator bag in your car, especially if it looks like it has something valuable inside.

actually, i dont think the thieves were divers lor, as they didn’t touch my 18lb oxycheq wing and my other two regulators (configured for the twin tanks - which took up most of the space in the boot - at snafu’s place earlier) which were lying on the floor - hence the conclusion that they thot the bag contained a laptop.
idiots.
still, expensive lesson on my end.

Sorry to hear about the break in. I know how it feels like, mine was broke into twice this year. Yeah, do be careful - take out your cd player, don’t leave ANY bags or smart tags or coins even. Some can be really desperate.

Got a call this afternoon from another MUW member about a find his colleagues fren had.
Lo and behold : it was my reg(s) set that went missing - everything was there minus the laptop bag lookalike (the reg bag)
Looks like the garden hose was of no use at all.
“You must have done something right to get all these things back” the colleague told me before I left their office.
Many thanks to those who expressed their “condolenses” over my loss.
And especially to the “anonymous” member who made that call to me.
You made my a normally horrible Monday bearable.
